Jacobs UK Ltd. has become the first Inspection Body involved in the inspection of fairground and amusement devices to gain UKAS accreditation.

The accreditation, which was confirmed early September, demonstrates the Inspection Body’s compliance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17020 – General criteria for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection, and its competence and impartiality to perform inspection of fairground and amusement devices.

The scope of accreditation covers in-service annual inspection as a Type C Inspection Body with inspection activities undertaken in accordance with HSG 175: Fairgrounds and amusement parks – guidance on safe practice, relevant parts of ADSC Safety of Amusement Devices 2008 – Part 1: Advice for In-service annual inspection and the applicable parts of BSEN 13814:2004 Fairground and amusement park machinery and structures.
