Free Safety Health Awareness Day 2026
ADIPS and PIPA are jointly holding a free CPD training day for fairground, themepark and inflatable operators. The day is taking place in Sutton Coldfield on Friday 6th March 2026. Places are limited so please reserve your tickets NOW.
The Safety Health Awareness Day or SHAD will be suitable for all operators, controllers, owners and staff who have fairground, themepark and inflatable equipment. In this blog you will see images of a previous day ran in Peterborough in 2024.
SHAD Subjects.
The programme at the moment is as follows:
9.30 Registration.
10.00 Introduction and Session 1. HSE – guidance & responsibilities. The HSE will run through some
of the guidance and responsibilities that providers have that applies to them, their workers and the
public.
10.45 Session 2. PIPA Update. Content will include anchorage, the standards, citing of inflatables, best
practice, daily checks, sign off.
11.30 Session 3. ADIPS Update. ADIPS device stickers. The Attendant ADIPS video. Industry/FJAC
issues.
12.15 Lunch / networking. A free buffet lunch and refreshments will be available.
1.00 Session 4. Generator & electrical Safety. Earth staking, understanding a generators electrical
power, correct IP rated connectors, RCB use, running long lengths of cable, bad connectors/truncated
cables, enclosures. Including petrol blower use.
1.45 Session 5. Basic Fire Awareness. The difference between extinguishers, provision needed for
vehicles, generators and electrics, when to and when to NOT engage. Constructing a fire risk
assessment.
2.30 Session 6. Paperwork / Daily Checks. Including the paperwork that controllers are meant to have
in their possession. Controller’s Pack. Performing and recording daily checks. Templates.
3.15 Session 7. Fencing, guarding, restrictive areas, emergency evacuation. Including the fencing
of rides and envelope areas. Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO). Restrictive areas. Emergency protocols and
evacuation.
4.00 Finish.
All attendees will be awarded a free PDF branded Attendance Certificate they can add to their staff training portfolio. Attendance by ticket only. Limited places available. Room accommodation can also be booked direct with the venue.
