Safety Health Awareness Day 2026.

The Amusement Devices Inspection Procedures Scheme (ADIPS) and Professional Inflatable Play Association (PIPA) held a joint controller Safety Health Awareness Day 2026 (SHAD) CPD day on Friday 6th March in Sutton Coldfield. The SHAD 2026 day was well attended with almost 100 controllers’ turning up for a day of lecturers and information to help them stay compliant and working to best practice.

Safety Health Awareness Day 2026.

The day had seven sessions including:

• HSE. The Responsibilities that controllers have. HSE issues update. The rewrite of HSG175.
• PIPA. Scheme update. The guidance that is available and PIPA technical bulletins and information sheets.
• ADIPS. The ADIPS controller membership ID initiate. ADIPS device stickers. The free ADIPS Attendant Induction video.
• Electrical. Knowing the output of a generator. Earth bonding. Trailing leads. Correct IP rated connectors.
• Fire Awareness. The different types of extinguishers and their uses.
• Paperwork & Daily Checks. The documents controllers should have in their possession. Controller’s Packs. Daily Checks & templates.
• Fencing & Barriers. The guidance available. The difference between a fence & a barrier. Egress and exit. Safety envelopes.

The day was well received and good feedback has been given.

An interactive Daily Check Sheet has been created. Load on your phone, enter the data (device, date, venue), ticks the checks and then when it is ‘submitted’, the form gets emailed to yourself. It was created in Libre Office (an open-source alternative to Office 365). Please watch the short tutorial video which has been uploaded to the ADIPS YouTube channel which shows how to alter the default email to your own. The document can be altered and changed to reflect your own devices. However, the PDF must be opened in Acrobat for the interactive controls to work.
