Notification of suspensions pending disciplinary proceedings

DMG Technical Ltd and its director, David Geary, have been suspended from the ADIPS register of inspection bodies with immediate effect (24th March 2025).

Under Rule 11 of the Rules of the Amusement Device Safety Council, DMG Technical Ltd and Geary must now cease conducting inspections pending the resolution of disciplinary proceedings against the company.

The suspensions follow consideration by ADIPS of several serious allegations made against the company and Geary in relation to inspection work, monitoring of inspection work, maintenance of records and reports, failure to comply with health and safety legislation and failure to notify ADIPS of prosecution relating to ADIPS inspection work.

DMG Technical Ltd and Geary have a right of appeal to lift the suspensions.

The ADIPS disciplinary panel will be invited to convene within the next 28 days to consider the allegations made against DMG Technical Ltd and Geary.

ADIPS does not have the power to prohibit controllers from operating devices inspected or reviewed by DMG and Geary, but we will issue a list of such devices to the regulator, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The controller is legally responsible for operating a safe device.

ADIPS is issuing advice to controllers of amusement devices inspected by DMG and Geary, informing them of the suspensions pending disciplinary proceedings. ADIPS’ primary concern is the safety of members of the public and controllers using amusement devices, and we are committed to working with the industry and regulator to address any safety concerns.
