From 1 December 2024, the administration of the certification scheme will transfer from Bacta (British Amusement Catering Trade Association) to ADIPS under the stewardship of our general manager, Carl Hagemann.

Announcing the new arrangement at ADIPS Annual Conference in Blackpool, Carl said: “Our aim is to manage a seamless migration of the safety certification scheme for coin-operated rides. But we want to do more than oversee and manage the programme of inspections. We’lll also be providing up-to-date technical safety advice and regular CPD (continuing professional development) for inspection bodies.

“We’ll be supporting the existing coin op community, as well as promoting the positive story of safety with coin-operated devices.”

Bacta President John Bollom said: “Bacta has a longstanding commitment to the highest standards of health and safety in the operation of amusement devices, especially children’s rides. Nothing will change in this respect once the new administrative changes have been put in place. The health and safety of our members’ customers remains our number one priority.”
